Welcome
to My Sisters' Place
For several years now, I have had the privilege of
serving as President on the Board of Directors for
My Sisters’ Place. It is a very special
organization to me and one that has been able to
transform lives by providing support to thousands of
homeless men, women and their children.
We invite you to browse through
our website to learn a little bit more about My
Sisters' Place. We think you will find that
our programs and services continue to address one of
the most important issues surrounding
homelessness.....ending its vicious cycle for future
generations.
My Sisters' Place have been serving the needs of the
homeless for 25 years, and we were the first
homeless shelter in the City of Hartford that was
capable of caring for women and their infant
children.
Today we operate 2
separate facilities, 14 supportive programs, provide
meals, life skills programs, encouragement and
support to nearly 750 women and children each year.
We continue to provide hope in a neighborhood where
violence, poverty and instability are a part of
everyday life.
When women and their children arrive at My Sisters’
Place, they bring only the clothes they have on
their back. We provide the warmth of a home,
clothing, diapers, formula, and supportive services
to help them weather the storm. Our highly
qualified staff and case managers not only provide
support for the women and children in our care, they
also serve as mentors and advocates. The
strong message they receive is,
‘They are loved and they
matter.’
We will continue
to provide hope and a home for those who need our
support, and we invite you to
contact us if you feel
that you would like to learn more about what we do
and how you can help.
Sincerely,
Kate Conway, MSP Board President
