Hope and a Home since 1982

There is a place in the north end of Hartford dedicated to making a difference in the lives of homeless women  and their children. Since 1982, My Sisters’ Place has been a safe haven for those who are suddenly forced into the streets due to domestic violence, eviction, unemployment or mental illness. Through guidance and empowerment, My Sisters’ Place helps those who slip into homelessness transition to a future of self-reliance and permanent, safe housing.

Imagine the fear and hopelessness of being a young mother with nowhere to go. It is dark, cold and your children are hungry and don’t even have hats, gloves or a warm coat. Your baby has no diapers or formula and you have to figure out not only where to sleep, but how to stay safe.

Many women in similar circumstances have found themselves on the steps of My Sisters’ Place where they have been offered hope and a home for more than 25 years.
